start the machine with the portafilter without the basket and let water drip into espresso cup

wipe portafilter and basket dry

remove water from cup

weigh out ~14 gram coffee beans

• amount varies as desired; this is ideal for single shot of espresso

grind with coffee grinder

• grind varies as desired but it should be super fine but not too fine

put basket in portafilter

add coffee grounds into basket

break clumps with wdt tool

• use a toothpick if you don't have one

level out with espresso distributor tool

• use a toothpick if you don't have one

tamp with tamper

insert portafilter into espresso machine

position cup under portafilter

adjust machine settings based on bean used

• dark roast is 92°c
• medium roast is 94°c
• light roast is 96°c

start machine

(optional) mix in granulated sugar to taste
